Lithuanian traditional bands have a unique magic, their repetitive patterns are a distinctive archaic language. In Lithuania, there are as many as 24 different methods of weaving bands, and jacquard weaving is one of them. Led by third-generation weaver Vladas Daškevičius, you can use a 50-year-old loom on which the expert’s mother weaved and create a jacquard band of your own making. Vladas will teach you about looms, their history and their various patterns. He will prepare the looms for weaving and you will be able to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of band weaving. Using threads that you receive from the workshop leader, you will be able to weave a band or ribbon that you can wear round your waist, your hand or in your own way.
