At the Oxford Weaving Studio, hand-weaving is taught using all the equipment, tools, materials and processes necessary to create hand-woven textiles. In this 6-hour workshop students will learn how to plan and set up a warp, from winding it on the warping mill to threading it up and tying it onto the loom, also called dressing the loom. They will weave interesting patterns and textures and make a small hand-woven sample of their own! The workshop includes dedicated access to a four-shaft table-loom (or students can bring their own), all the yarns and fibres from our studio, weaving notes as per the session and refreshments.
