Introduction to basketweaving near Zwolle

with Esmé Hofman

All about basketweaving

Esmé Hofman creates contemporary baskets that go beyond the boundaries of tradition. Groups are invited to visit her workshop and experience the immense possibilities offered by basketweaving techniques from all over the world. She will talk about the history, the material and the making process through the different objects in her vast personal collection. Visitors will then work on a small sample piece, getting familiar with the basics of one or more basketry techniques, which could include stake and strand, weaving, coiling and plaiting. To visit the studio and book a hands-on experience, please arrange the day and time in advance.
