Visit basketweaving workshop in Colombia

During the visit to Construarte workshop, basketweaver Edilsa Baldomino explains her creative process: from the storage of the raw material to the elaboration of the final product. Participants can enjoy a demonstration of her craft as the craftswoman shows the different techniques such as braiding and scrim, the dyeing process, and the process of extraction of the Iraca palm. She will also talk about her life story, her experience in the craft and the effort she has made to teach the craft to younger generations, so that the craft is not lost. Visitors will also have the opportunity to create their piece under Edilsa’s guidance.
