Totora basketry workshop in La Serena

Come and learn the craft of totora reed basketry in this course given by craftswoman Marta Godoy Castillo. She will start with an explanation of how the raw material is processed, followed by a series of guided classes, where you will experiment with different techniques to acquire skills for the creation of works at a basic, intermediate and advanced level. At the end of these courses you will leave with your own piece created in the class. You will also have the ability to recreate a basket creation, perhaps even using other plant fibres. This workshop consists of seven classes in total, each class lasting four hours and costing 120 EUR per class per group. This workshop runs by appointment only, from March to June. Please note that this workshop spans 28 hours, divided into seven sessions, each lasting four hours.
