On this guided tour, visitors will learn about Omeya leatherwork, in particular gilt-leather panels (guadamecis), which became very famous around the world for their aesthetic quality and outstanding beauty. This museum-house is unique in the world, as it has on display original Omeya techniques on leather used as decoration. The masters of the house, Mr. Ramón García Romero and Jose Carlos Villarejo García, are research artists on caliphal techniques which were developed in Cordoba in the 10th century.

This guided tour includes a visit around the museum and most hidden rooms of the house, including the study of the only guadamecí artist and his curation room. You will visit the museum's collection, a private collection and your guide will describe the reasons behind the creation of the museum. You will learn about the different handcraft techniques that made Cordoba such a widely known city: its gilt-leather panel (guadamecí) and cordwain (cordobán). You will meet the artist and current craftsman in the museum: José Carlos Villarejo, who will talk about his work. Refreshments will be served.
