Berta Sumpsi creates minimalistic, subtle, and sometimes irreverent jewellery using welding, fretwork, forging, wax modelling, and polishing among other techniques. She uses both traditional materials such as silver, gold and stones, and more contemporary ones such as natural resins and paint. In this workshop, bearing in mind that her work results from the symbiosis between craftwork, contemporary thinking and design, she teaches enthusiasts how to imagine, create and complete a ring, entirely by hand. With this practical experience, she wants to introduce the basic techniques, materials, and tools of jewellery to all kinds of people interested in this craftsmanship.
