On an exceptional basis, during Homo Faber in Città, UNI.S.Ve’s restoration centre will open its workshop to the public, in an old squero near campo Santa Margherita. It will be an opportunity to learn how different skills are being combined to safeguard Venice’s craft heritage, while observing restorers as they work on decorated wood, plaster and mosaic artefacts produced using traditional Venetian techniques. It is, moreover, a chance to discover a painstaking and invisible process whose aim it is to preserve, promote the appreciation of and hand down historic work and techniques. Please note that this visit is free and can accommodate 10 people.
