Mastering silk from worm to scarf

The three young co-founders of Nido di Seta – Miriam, Domenico and Giovanna – wanted to uphold the ancient tradition of Calabrian craftsmanship. In 2014, they decided to establish their atelier in San Florio, in the heart of Calabria, their home region. Today, the atelier has sericulture as its main activity, but they also produce and sell many silk products, such as fabrics, scarves, clothes, hats, ties, headbands and many other fashion accessories. Their jewellery line combines elegance, tradition and value, giving life to unique woven treasures.

All the products are totally unique and guarantee the highest quality. They respect the concept of environmental sustainability. The colours of shawls, blankets, tablecloths and runners are made exclusively with natural products such as poppy flowers, mulberry, tropea onion, genista flowers, walnut husk and many more. Among their creations is the kneeler cover for the Pope, currently located in the Clementine Hall of the Vatican, which was dyed with the root of the madder plant.
