Originally from the north of France, Sylvain Lequenne worked for several years in the field of environmental protection before reconverting to ceramics in 2016 at the age of 34, after three years of training at the CNIFOP in Burgundy. He immediately felt in harmony with the material and was seduced by the infinite possibilities of decorating and glaze firing his pieces with mixed sandstones. Atelier amphotère was launched shortly after in February 2020 and now enjoys a solid reputation working with clients such as French Michelin-starred chef, Sylvain Guillemot, won over by Lequenne’s creations. His work is part of an instinctive approach whose inspiration is rooted in nature and the primitive arts, albeit showcasing a contemporary twist.
