Glassblower

Full-scale glass production for Spain

The Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja was created by the Spanish Bourbon dynasty in the 18th and 19th centuries, to ensure that all Spanish royal palaces and institutions were adequately supplied with stunning creations, like any other European monarchy at that time. Ever since its birth, the Real Fábrica has been enriched with the best available resources, in terms of both advanced technologies and artistic skills. The current production, 250 years after its foundation, is still faithful to the original processes and techniques, mastered by exceptionally skilled glass blowers and artisans.

The result is objects and sculptures of the highest quality and creativity. The enormous building of the Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja, built between 1770 and 1784 near Segovia and still operative today, is itself worth the visit: one of the largest and best preserved examples of industrial architecture in Spain, it also hosts the Museo Tecnológico del Vidrio.
