Pécora was founded by felt enthusiast Isora Díaz Rodriguez following a time of personal crisis. In Pécora she created a safe place for solitude, creativity, and change. The atelier was established in 2017, survived the Covid-19 period and is successfully running in the capital of the island of Tenerife. The atelier consists of four professional artisans, dedicated to making captivating handmade products, from lamps to wall hangings, with an ethos of 'art for everyone'. The techniques revolve around traditional felting, combined with their own unique adaptations.
Pécora's main aim is to create products that are fundamental to everyday life and incorporate beauty with purpose. Community and family stand at the heart of this atelier where artisanal collaboration flourishes. Wool is a scarce material on the island and the export of handmade products out of the Canary Islands is complex. Pécora supports a life of local resources, keeping traditional crafts alive.
