Women united with a weaving mission
In 2017, a group of retired women from the eastern Bosnian town of Goražde came together to craft, socialize and then sell their creations to friends. Four years later, they now sell their pieces all over Bosnia and abroad. OVA pieces are a visually appealing blend of Bosnian handicrafts and innovative design. The diligence of the OVA team of artisans is impeccable, because high quality craftsmanship is at the heart of the initiative.
One OVA bag requires 35 hours of weaving, an OVA pillowcase takes 45 hours, and an OVA carpet needs more than 80 hours of weaving. OVA pieces are made entirely of organic and home-grown materials. The initiative supports creative Bosnian women and contributes to preserving traditional Bosnian heritage.
