Venetian glass mirror inspired by the sea

Ongaro e Fuga is an atelier that perpetuates the thousand year-old art of Murano glass-blowing, creating traditional mirrors in Venetian style and much more. The artisans of the company take inspiration from the infinite nuances of the Venice lagoon and from the incredible richness of the Venetian artistic heritage to craft a variety of creations ranging from almost functional pieces to artistic, site-specific installations, which are often the result of collaborations with artists, designers and architects relying on the craftsmen’s know-how to realise their visions.

Ongaro e Fuga artistic mirrors involve processing techniques that can exceed 100 hours and comprise thousands of decorative elements. The exceptional savoir faire of the artisans reflects the long story of the company, founded in 1954 by Franco Fuga and his wife Tullia Ongaro, but also the story before them, as it all began in 1852 when Franco’s ancestor Angelo Fuga started to engrave glass and created the first Venetian mirror. The company is run today by the founder’s son, Giuliano Fuga.
