A path shaped by light and colour
- Marie-Pierre works with the traditional leaded stained glass technique
- Her practice is sensitive to environmental concerns
- She collaborates closely with other artists, architects and interior designers
Marie-Pierre Bouaziz's desire to work with stained glass is driven by her passion and need to create with her hands. She first discovered this craft during a stained glass workshop, then trained for 14 years with different master glassmakers. This professional reconversion, which Marie-Pierre considers a key moment in her life, led her to open her own workshop in Paris in 2016. Today, she works with the traditional leaded technique, draws her designs by hand and follows her instinct. "My style is pure and elegant. I am inspired by Art Deco, abstraction and contemporary forms, as I revisit the past with modern colours," she says. She designs her unique pieces in dialogue with the client as well as the architecture, interior decoration and light of the location. Conscious of environmental concerns and committed to the transmission of skills, Marie-Pierre collaborates with other artists and works on heritage restoration projects too.

INTERVIEW
I first discovered this craft during a stained glass workshop I attended as a hobby, before changing careers. I trained in stained glass making for 14 years with different master glassmakers, and had a year of immersive experience in a workshop.
Opening my own workshop in March 2016 marked the culmination of my journey and affirmed my commitment to the craft.
My work is influenced by Art Deco, abstraction and contemporary forms. I draw inspiration from the past while using current colours, seeking a pure and elegant style in harmony with interior decoration.
I draw my creations by hand and trust my instinct. Each project begins with a discussion with the architect or client. The design idea quickly unfolds, all while respecting the traditional leaded technique.
