Since 1868, Kinloch Anderson has played a central role in the Scottish textile tradition, specialising in Highland dress, tartans, tweeds and fine tailoring. The atelier, still family-run six generations later, has held Royal Warrants since 1934, serving as tailor and kiltmaker to Queen Elizabeth II for the 70 years of her reign. Today, the atelier proudly holds the Royal Warrant to The King and reflects the highest standards of handmade clothing and textile design. Using traditional techniques and premium natural fabrics, especially wool, Kinloch Anderson preserves and advances the rich heritage of tartans and Highland dress through contemporary craftsmanship rooted in timeless Scottish identity.
Every Kinloch Anderson kilt is hand-sewn in Edinburgh by skilled artisans, and made to measure with meticulous precision. The bespoke tartan service enables individuals, families, organisations and brands to create a unique design that reflects their story and values. From historical research and design through to weaving and garment creation, every stage is handled by in-house experts.
