Luca Morando is an artisan at heart, who firmly believes in the value of teamwork. His creations are a kaleidoscope of techniques, shades of colour, and textures, masterpieces made by several hands and minds who think and execute alike. Luca’s own education and training were in theatrical costume-design at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. What fascinated him the most were the details and decorations that made each costume unique, and especially fabric flowers. This prompted him to learn how to handcraft flowers from millinery techniques.
Luca Morando atelier works on commissions for gowns and accessories from haute couture to bridal houses. Luca and his team craft flowers from silk and other natural fabrics, felt, straw and leather. Flower petals are hand-dyed, assembled, and then embellished with rhinestones, lace and feathers, or meticulously embroidered. “No matter where they are placed, handmade fabric flowers will always add a unique and original touch wherever they are applied,” says Luca.
