Traditional and modern intertwine in the exquisite glassworks of Yakush. The atelier was founded in 2017 by Masha Yakush who was driven by the desire to diversify restaurant tableware. Today her workshop produces a wide range of objects including bowls, vases, pitchers, glasses, candles, and souvenirs. Yakush is keen on experimenting with shapes, colours, and forms, inspired by antique tableware and ancient glass creations.
At the workshop, artisans use centuries-old techniques, staying true to free-blown glassmaking traditions that originated in Ukraine in the 15th century. Sustainability is at the core of Yakush operations, too. The atelier collects broken glass from factories around the country to remelt it and recycle it as a new object. Masha Yakush is also a co-founder of Oplich, a platform that helps Ukrainian makers maintain operations during the war and introduce their objects to the international market.
