The Esse2 artisanal workshop was founded in the 1990s by a family with a long-standing tradition of master glassmakers. It began producing Murano glass lampwork pearls using the submerged gold and silver leaf technique, from which jewellery with an elegant and refined design was created. Since the 2000s, with the purchase of a furnace, master glassmaker Francesco Serena produces multi-coloured blown-glass objects, such as vases and glasses, in a variety of forms for the art of tablescaping.
The different types of glass workmanship in use at Esse2 reflect the different talents of each single member of the business, which comprises glassmaker Stefano Don and the impiraresse Carlotta Serena and Serena Piazzetta. At Esse2 the familial bond is a guarantee of quality, professionalism and preservation of the art of stringing pearls, an ancient Venetian tradition that is disappearing.
