Stepping in their predecessors' shoes

Founded in 1990, Don Quichosse specialises in the manufacture of espadrilles in Mauléon, the capital of this emblematic product of the Basque Country. In the Cangrand family, the espadrille has a very long history. It all started with the great-grandfather, who manufactured the braids used to create the soles of these famous shoes. The torch was then passed on to the grandfather, and finally to his son, Philippe, and his grandson, Timothée, both at the head of Don Quichosse today.

In France only a handful of companies still make espadrilles by hand, but Don Quichosse is the only one that only does hand stitching. Its emphasis on quality has earned it the Living Heritage Company label. The collection of Don Quichosse offers a wide range of models both in shapes and in different materials, giving it a worldwide reputation. Major brands such as Repetto, Lacoste and Galeries Lafayettes have also worked with them.
