Crossing the threshold of Dalla Lidia Merletti d'Arte means entering the temple of Burano lace, where this precious tradition is preserved and resurrected. Here they produce household linen for the table, bathroom, bedroom, as well as veils, clothing and accessories for adults, children and babies. The story of Dalla Lidia begins in 1930, when Erminia Costantini decided to create the wedding dress and trousseau for her daughter Augustina, together with the island's lace makers. Later, Erminia's son, Mario Bressanello, married Lidia and decided to carry on his mother's work by opening the first lace shop on the island, which he named after his wife.
With his son Luigi and daughter-in-law Paola Toselli the atelier grew exponentially. Among other things, Luigi opened his collection of ancient lace to the public, creating a world-famous lace museum. Paola is still the backbone of the atelier. Since the 2000s, Paola and Luigi's son, Davide Bressanello, and their nephew, Andrea Predosin, have embarked on a new phase, with new designs and stitches, novel threads (including 24 carat gold) and collaborations with luxury companies.
