CHIARUGI 1952

Woodturning

Impruneta, Italy

Salt and pepper grounded in legacy

Since 1952, CHIARUGI 1952 has been crafting salt, pepper, herb and spice mills with wood and crystal glass. Mario Chiarugi launched the manufacturer with the hope of breathing new life into traditional Florentine craftsmanship. He sought to present the pepper mill, a symbol of culinary culture, as a reflection of fine woodwork. Still produced today, CHIARUGI 1952's unique mills feature an original mechanism that cuts the pepper instead of crushing it.

The team of artisans at CHIARUGI 1952 pays close attention to traditional design, modern style and new technologies. The mills are manufactured entirely in-house, using only high-quality materials such as fine beech wood. Over the years, CHIARUGI 1952 has supplied the global food and beverage sector with professional-grade tools that are skilfully crafted and durable, even under intensive use.
