Atelier Thiery has been devoted to the art of gilding and wall decoration since its foundation by master leaf gilder and decorative painter Patrick Thiery in 1971. He was later joined by his sons and daughter, and the family-run workshop has since developed a distinctive expertise, built on a harmonious dialogue between craft heritage and contemporary vision. They aim to introduce gold leaf to challenging creative projects, anchoring the craft in today’s world of luxury and art by honouring processes and techniques passed-down through the generations.
Atelier Thiery's work ranges from heritage restoration, notably at the Louvre Museum and Palace of Versailles, to contemporary interior decoration and art finishes. The atelier greatly values collaborations and works with luxury houses and partners across different fields on special projects, driven by a desire to continually expand its know-how. Since 2018, Atelier Thiery is based in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, in one of the 50 workshops of the Cour de l’Industrie, a lively district of craftsmanship.
