Initially dedicated to making embroidered fabrics for Parisian fashion houses, the embroidery atelier Montex was founded in 1939 by Jacques Lemonier. At the beginning of the 1980s, the company was able to experience significant growth thanks to Annie Trussart, a fine embroidery connoisseur appointed artistic director. She was passionate about music and architecture and drew inspiration from them in her embroidery. She would also combine new and unexpected materials in the different samples she designed.
Montex collaborated with the greatest names in fashion. The atelier claims a unique style in embroidery making – both sophisticated and innovative. Since then, it has continued to reinvent and expand the boundaries of the craft, whether in the use of new materials or in technical application. From lace embroidered on newspaper to a spiral of baguette beads with a 3D effect, Montex’s archives are rich in one-of-a-kind samples, all reflecting a modern, refined style and excellence in know-how.
