In the early 2000s, Vikram Goyal founded a namesake design studio driven by an interest in sustaining traditional metalworking know-how from India. Creating furniture, large-scale decorative wall panels and immersive installations, the studio taps into India’s sheet metalworking traditions by experimenting with recycled brass. Vikram Goyal artisans have revived dying local repoussé relief-work and hollow joining traditions, and brought Indian metalworking craftsmanship to the world stage.

The atelier's objects are characterised by highly decorative designs rooted in cultural storytelling. The pieces combine inspiration from India's rich culture, architecture, mythology and fables with different influences from around the world. By reinterpreting heritage for today's aesthetics, Vikram Goyal is constructing a craft story that resonates across India and beyond.
