Through silversmithing, Revan Abdulsabour translates regional Saudi Arabian motifs into geometric forms with signature hidden messages. Trained at the renowned Bishopsland Educational Trust in the UK, she specialises in traditional metalwork, cold enamelling and hand engraving. Revan creates contemporary jewellery pieces and objects in silver, often plated with gold. "I enjoy working on the bench in a slow process, accompanied by music and coffee," she says. Through her work with the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, Revan researches distinct patterns and ancient cross-cultural influences, from local cave art to early Greek ties. She shares her knowledge of her craft in metalworking and jewellery programmes. In 2023, she won first place in the Jacob Jewellers Emerging Designer competition in the UK, with a bookmark crafted in metal using engraving and enamel techniques.
