Glassblower Gianluca Seguso based in Italy & British fellow Hetty Laycock

Hailing from one of Murano’s glassblowing dynasties, Gianluca’s entire life has been shaped by the furnace. Growing up in that environment taught him that craftsmanship is not just a technical discipline but a culture. He feels a profound sense of responsibility to ensure that the knowledge entrusted to him does not stop with his generation.

Yorkshire-born sculptor Hetty studied at Venice’s Academy of Fine Arts and works primarily with ceramics, metal and glass, informed by research into philosophy, anthropology, ecology and natural sciences. As a contemporary sculptor, her objective is to dedicate her career to material-led research and the continuation of craft as a living, evolving practice.
