Colombian artist Gilberto Granja practises Barniz de Pasto, a traditional decorative technique using mopa mopa, a natural resin. His family workshop has been dedicated to this craft for more than six decades, passing its knowledge from one generation to the next. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Gilberto will showcase the decoration stage of Barniz de Pasto, which is one of the most complex parts of the process. Visitors will see up close how previously cleaned, dyed, and stretched mopa-mopa resin sheets are cut and manually applied onto a wooden surface to create the final decoration.
