Turn writing into art

Discover the playful world of lettering, the art of drawing letters and words instead of just writing them. In this half-day workshop you will learn to use this technique for card making, logo designs, prints on clothing or walls, package design and more. In this beginner workshop, lettering designer Sofie Björkgren-Näse will introduce you to hand drawn typography, explaining about material and tools, letter anatomy and different methods to create your own letters. The focus of the course will be on drawing itself: students will learn by doing, completing some assignments like drawing the same letter in as many ways as they can, drawing their names and trying different letterforms and styles. The workshop does not take place in Sofie’s studio. It can be arranged almost anywhere, in Finland and even abroad, on demand.
