Cartiera Manualis carries out handmade papermaking by combining a tradition dating back to the 13th century with a contemporary approach. Using recycled materials from the food and fashion industries, they create natural paper without chemical additives or optical brighteners. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Giacomo Arteconi from Cartiera Manualis will unveil the complete process of making a sheet of paper by hand. From forming the sheet with a mould and vat to pressing and drying, visitors will discover the gestures, tools and timing behind this precious artisanal tradition.
