Shaping contemporary clay in Tbilisi

Inbloom Ceramic Studio's six ceramicists shape clay in a steady, quiet rhythm, surrounded by shelves of tableware, vessels, chessboards and sculptural forms. Trained at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, they meet regularly to examine proportion, glaze, colour and seasonal direction. Ideas are debated, refined and developed together. From the first sketch to the final firing, a piece usually takes several weeks to complete, guided by shared discipline and attention to detail. Alongside production, the atelier conducts masterclasses and seasonal workshops, sharing its knowledge with a wider community.

Though Inbloom Ceramic Studio itself was established in 2026, the artistry of the skilled hands behind it spans more than a decade. Founder Taso Gomelauri and her team were among the early voices in the resurgence of contemporary ceramics in Tbilisi. The studio’s language is minimalist yet unmistakably personal, defined by clean lines, careful finish and a quiet thread of humour. Functional pieces sustain daily production, while decorative works push the material into sculptural orms that prove ceramics are never limited to utility alone.
