This work is part of the expanded fragment series. It is a work that embodies the characteristics of both sculpture and object, created by layering pieces of fabric to form a structure. This piece is made by physically combining multiple small fragments to construct a solid artefact. The form of the work features geometric cross-sections, with the stacked fabric pieces creating a texture that seems to represent layers of time. The main colour is a deep blue, but only certain areas have been bleached to form a cohesive image through a regular arrangement. The faded fabric intermingles with the original colour of the denim, resulting in a rich blue tone.
