This series of semi-transparent blown glass sculptures was inspired by the Latvian spring landscapes. The sculptures combine and contrast glass with aluminium elements. The series was inspired by a poem by Latvian poet Imants Ziedonis. The poem ponders how spring has arrived almost by surprise, “as if in its Sunday best” (represented by the glass) “finding us in our work clothes” (represented by the aluminium).
