This elephant mask, crafted from woven vines, draws on traditional Chong weaving techniques originally used for making fish traps. Representing the head of an elephant, the mask connects local knowledge, natural materials and the ecological heritage of the Chong people. It was first shown publicly at documenta 14 in 2017.
