This sculpture by Derek Wilson was created from hand thrown ceramic elements that were cut apart and reassembled into a balanced arrangement. Multiple layers of fine engobe were applied to build depth across the surface. Questioning functionality, the work explores free and geometric abstraction by deconstructing the familiar forms of archetypal vessels into a new form of expression.
