Dawn

This lacquered Yixing purple clay flower vessel, inspired by the sunrise over the sea, has a cylindrical base that becomes square at the rim, with folded corners. Tile ash forms wave patterns. Layered blue-to-mauve lacquer, mother-of-pearl inlay and gold powder evoke the shifting light of dawn across the water.
