Symbiosis of Chrysanthemums

This installation by Lu Huang was created from stem pith paper using traditional techniques originating from the Jin Dynasty. The petals were crafted through a sequence of processes, including slicing and twisting, and layered intuitively without templates. Centred on the chrysanthemum as a contemporary form, the work revisits traditional symbolism, reflecting both a return to origins and a renewal of Chinese aesthetics.
