Transition_Iungo

Transition_Iungo is a sculptural vessel constructed from copper panels joined through spot welding. A prominent diagonal ridge crossing the centre of the body marks the junction between the upper and lower sections, forming the work’s most distinctive visual feature. Inspired by the seam created when the two halves of a traditional Korean moon jar are joined, this detail reinterprets a structural connection as a sculptural element. The surface is finished with a thin layer of yellow porcelain colouring and gold leaf is applied to each weld point to emphasise the marks of connection.
