Transition IX

Transition IX is a large-scale sculptural vessel constructed from numerous spot-welded copper panels, including 30 primary panels that define its form. Inspired by the balanced proportions of the traditional Korean moon jar, the work introduces subtle asymmetrical folds and undulations across its surface, gently disrupting an otherwise stable silhouette. The surface is finished by applying a thick, textured layer of light-coloured porcelain, and polishing it to reveal contrasting layers beneath.
