Manis Tetradactyla

This sculpture by Juliette Clovis was composed of approximately 7000 handmade porcelain scales, each individually fixed onto a sculpted foam base. Some elements were left unglazed, while others were glazed. Inspired by the pangolin, an endangered species, the work forms a continuum with neither beginning nor end, suggesting the emergence of a new cycle of life.
