Rising with the Sun

This mixed-media artwork was made with textiles, acrylics and coloured pencils, and features machine-stitched details. It was created in response to the uprising and revolt of women in Iran against inequality and enforcement of the hijab. It depicts the solidarity between women during that period. It features Farsi inscriptions that refer to prisoners’ names, their dreams, wishes and fears.
