Brown textured smoke fired vessel

This pod-shaped vessel is hand built in coils and has a small irregular opening at the top. It has cream and yellow slip added, and the surface is textured to a soft matt finish. After bisque firing, it is fired in sawdust, using a masking technique to create subtle patterns in brown tones.
