Panther
This black ceramic object was created by cutting and folding faux leather into the form of a black panther, then transforming it into ceramic through a plaster casting process. Dasol Lee carefully reproduces the wrinkles and stretched surfaces of leather, using a self-made black slip to achieve deep colour. Although the piece appears soft, it is in fact made of solid ceramic. Panther belongs to the From animals for animals series.
