In a Cell

This flat wall panel is made from lacquer and eggshell inlay. The black lacquer surface is polished to a deep mirror-like gloss using the traditional roiro finishing technique. The motif evokes microscopic forms, rendered through finely crushed white eggshell set into the black lacquer base.
