Two-shaku round lantern

Traditionally used as signboard lanterns, these lanterns are now primarily used as indoor lighting. The two-shaku description refers to the size of the lantern, a shaku being a Japanese unit of length. They are handmade using bamboo, thread, washi paper and wheat glue.
