Black ice with roses

This tall footed vase has been created from two wheel thrown forms. Sprig-like elements flow across the clay form and rise upward toward the neck, creating an ornamented crown. A black metallic glaze adds lustre, while a smattering of small white petal-like forms add contrast to the top and foot.
