Origami folds, patterning paper yukata

This installation celebrates origami and indigo-dyed yukata, Japanese summer kimonos. Panels of Japanese kozo paper are folded into forms such as frogs, birds and diamonds, then wrapped around a pole and dyed in indigo. Once opened, they reveal layered blue and white patterns that form larger graphic compositions.
