
This piece is a large pop-up tableau of noodles on a Chinese altar table with a crank. Inspired by ‘On top of spaghetti’, it weaves the artist’s personal memories with intergenerational histories of immigration and exclusion, from burned Chinatowns to the rise of Chinese restaurants.
