Lunar Altar: After Kircher
This gilded oak triptych celebrates the moon and presents an interpretation of the 17th-century engraving Turris Babel by Athanasius Kircher. The central panel features Luna, the goddess of the moon, with her golden crescent, while Apollo, the god of light, is represented in the right panel and the Apollo Moon mission is symbolised in the left.
