Stitched flat based platter

This is a wide porcelain platter with a soft grey surface and bright orange inlaid squares, which radiate from a lemon-yellow centre. The patterns are made using the Japanese technique of nerikomi. The geometric patterns and lines are intricately carved through the surface of the piece.
